Friday January 22nd, 2016

This week our class was talking about getting new Chrome books for the entire class. We wouldn't get to keep them until Spring. Ms. Doolittle was talking about getting Minecraft for a few of the computers/ Chrome books.  This week we had  a sub.  He was really tall and almost everyone asked if he played in the NBA. Two people from our class got new glasses. Also, some Hokki Stools that Ms. Doolittle wrote a grant for got denied. We learned about how to research our passions without having our face always buried in a screen. We had a party in class because we got enough quality coins for being kind to other people. That was what we did this week.

January 15, 2016

This week in Mrs.Doolittle's class we have bean learning about some interesting things, well, at least in Social Studies. Today (Jan 15) we talked about how the people of Flint Michigan have to avoid all tap water because of the lead pipes and how Governor Snyder hasn't done anything so he is not a very good governor and Flint has proven that! We have been learning in math about fractions and stuff like that and we have reading groups about the American Revolution and important people like King Gorge  III and GW and how the colonies had gotten physical with the Red Coats (English Army) and how after that they had important events like the Boston Tea Party and the Boston Massacre and what at least I have noticed is that all the important events happened in Boston. Other things we have been talking about in our Morning Meetings is the big gun violence in this country and how it is out of control and we got to share our opinions like a debate, just with less arguing. Because it is the campaign season for the Democrats and the Republicans many celebrities have spoken out about gun violence the first and most important one was when Amy Schumer after what happened in Denver, and then other people such as Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafazi. That's what we learned this week.

January 8th

This week we started working on fractions in math. We did addition subtraction and two step word problems. We also started reading groups. We worked on passions, and did research on them. We made                                                   one word resolutions. Our one word resolutions were just one word that was a resolution. The reason they were only one word was because one word is stronger than a whole sentence. We made pictures of our words and blogged about them on Google Classroom. We read an article on Greenland and how its melting faster than ever. By Tahmeed
